Our client a busy and expanding FMCG company in Donegal now have an exciting opportunity for a National Sales Manager. The main responsibilites is to manage key client accounts and the day to day sales for Ireland and also have input into UK Accounts. The main responsibilty of the position is to manage and motivate sales employees, assembling a direct sales team focused on meeting customer requirements, building brand loyalty and achieving agreed targets in line with the Company's vision and values. Develop and present well researched plans and strategies, supported by the sales and marketing teams, to expand company customer base, develop product range and move into new direct sales territories within the island of Ireland. To Manage Key Accounts and developing relationships, adding value and building loyalty. Mentor the sales team in focusing on customer needs and delivering these. Monitor sales against targets at account, product and territory level taking corrective action to address shortfalls. Proactively plan to grow territory sales in terms of people customers and product range. Implement agreed company strategy to achieve growth. Agree a plan for each territory, Sales Representative area and facilitate successful implementation of this plan. Employee management and development. Set ambitious and realistic KPIs for your direct reports focusing on profitability, maximising sales and minimising returns and waste. Develop sales representatives, van sales people and third party agents ensuring everyone is well trained and fully equipped to succeed, agree career development plans with key individuals and support each individual in achieving their Key Performance Indicators. Conduct sales employee individual reviews and assessments to increase motivation, improve communication and build a clear understanding of the market. Identify sales employees’ training and development needs through recognising gaps and providing insight into how the Sales Team can be further supported and developed through training. Recruit employees using the probation period to assess their fitness for the role. Manage sales operation in terms of Logistics, Depot Management, Health and Safety and the promotion of safe working practices such as ensuring compliance with the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 with support from Health and Safety, Human Resources and Quality functions. Effective Sales Forecasting with immediate communication of changes in sales team requirements done in a timely manner to key personnel is always critical. Liaise with the commercial and marketing teams to provide timely, accurate feedback on competitor and customer activity. Maintains accurate records of agreed pricing strategies and activity reports submitted by Sales Reps. Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team. Strong numeric and comeercial acumen and to be very proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint. The person will have responsibility for 5 Regional Reps and Account Managers. The successful canidiate should hold a Degree in Marketing or a realated Business Degree and have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similiar role in the FMCG sector. The position will be 2 days at the factory and 3 days out at client sites. As National Account Manager you will take ownership of customer relationships including, planning, forecasting and on-going development of our branded and private label portfolio with major retailers in ROI and the UK. Key Responsibilities to include the following to develop detailed understanding of the customer base. Sell and negotiate each activity, event or initiative, to deliver the Joint Business Plan and the business objectives for the customer. Be a Key influencer to our ongoing channel and brand planning cycle. Role and Responsibilities are the following. Actively manage national accounts to achieve agreed targets. Develop detailed understanding of the customer categories. Become the “Go To” person for our key customers. Sell and negotiate each activity, event or initiative, to deliver the Joint Business Plan and the business objectives for each customer. Develop and negotiate annual joint business plans with key customers. Liaise relevant managers when developing quarterly action plans & category plans for customers that are in conjunction with company strategy. Report on the sales, profitability and account initiatives. Liaise with supply chain regarding forecast planning. Manage costs effectively. Develop a relationship with members of the relevant customer teams. Proactively liaise and co-ordinate with production, finance, administration, Q.C. and marketing. Operate as a team player and positively contribute to the development of the business. The key experience and skills required are as follows. A passion for the food industry.
