Quality Control Manager
Our client is a whole owned Irish Owned company specialising in converting Marine inputs into high valued ingredients and products. The company has two factories in Co. Galway and in Co. Donegal.As part of our expansion and development plans, we are currently seeking applications for the position of ‘Quality Control Manager’ based at our factory in Burtonport. This is a full-time permanent position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our safety, quality, and operating procedures, dealing with our animal feeds and bio-stimulant/fertiliser sectors, and developing our new human food and ingredients business while also contributing to the ongoing growth, research and development work of the company as a whole.
Candidates should have:
- Third level qualification in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related discipline and have relevant experience in a Quality Assurance role in a regulated industry.
The main responsibilities and functions of this role include:
- Designing and implementing Quality Management System (QMS)
- Designing and implementing the companies Organic Systems
- Designing and implementing the companies Food Safety Systems.
- Working with research, developers and the Beo Bio team to design and produce new products.
The successful individual will need to possess the following:
- Knowledge of HACCP procedures and an ability to implement them.
- Able to work in a fast-moving environment in a flexible and organised manner.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Commitment to quality, a high degree of attention to detail.
- Logical and methodical approach
- Knowledge of ISO systems is an advantage
- Good team working skills
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
- Integrity and honesty at all times.
- Basic chemical and microbiological testing skills.
- Incoming material testing, supplier approval.
- Basic Lab skills.
- Document quality assurance practices by entering data into logs, noting information in computer databases and recording all inventory and actions.
- Provide archive product samples and data to customers if and when needed.
Quality Assurance Assistant
Candidates must be flexible with regard to shift/start times, and able to work on a rota system due to the increase in production.The main responsibilities and functions of this role include:
- Full implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) and Food Safety policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of HACCP.
- To ensure quality control is performed within timeframes set.
- The successful individual will need to possess the following:
- Able to work in a fast-moving environment in a flexible and organised manner
- Ability to work under pressure
- Commitment to quality, a high degree of attention to detail
- Logical and methodical approach
- Good team working skills
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
- Integrity and honesty at all times
- Basic chemical and microbiological testing skills, PAE of finished products
- Incoming material testing, supplier approval.
- Lab equipment calibration.
- Document quality assurance practices by entering data into logs, noting information in computer databases and recording all inventory and actions.
